Many of these have attended or are enrolled in our industry courses. As a consumer, all you have to do is ask the builder and mechanical contractor for their credentials. Shop and Compare! Remember, they are not doing you a favor - you are paying thousands of dollars for their professional services - the good ones continually upgrade their skills and carry memberships in industry associations. As with any search for a professional, get recommendations, call the appropriate association, find out what certificates, diplomas and licenses the individuals have...

Start with your local trade associations.
Call the suppliers - talk with the managers. Get referrals from friends.
 
Never assume the general contractor works with the best trades and suppliers.
