Ghost in Your Genes: Epigentics

"We're in the midst of probably the biggest revolution in biology that is going to forever transform the way we understand genetics, environment, the way the two interact, what causes disease. It's another level of biology, which, for the first time, really, is up to the task of explaining the biological complexity of life." Mark Mehler (Albert Einstein College of Medicine)

In 2007 I wrote Dr. R. Jirtle, Duke University Medical Center who was interviewed for this PBS documentary and asked him about epigentics and the built environment, he was kind enough to reply with this opinion, "…it may be possible that a building's environment could also affect the epigenome".

In consideration of Dr Jessica Greens TEDtalk on microbes in the environment and Dr. Charles J. Weschler, Healthy Buildings 2012 Plenary Lecture and the PBS NOVA Broadcast on Epigentics, we can't help but wonder what comes next in the relationship between the building and health sciences.
