Qinghua Guo studied architecture at the Department of Architecture, Harbin University of Technology, China, and worked as a researcher at the Institute of Architectural History, Beijing. She received her PhD in architectural history at the Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden. Following that, she was a researcher at the Kyoto University, Japan, before commencing at The University of Melbourne where she teaches East Asian architecture. She is a committee member of the International Society for Chinese Architectural History Studies, and the International Society for Manchu Architectural History Studies.
