There is only one other presentation that we would recommend on this topic and its not our own. It's
Professor Roland Clift's, lecturer "Engineering for Sustainable Development" ...set aside an hour to watch this wonderful talk which takes on difficult subjects of ethics in engineering and sustainability.

View: Lecture 15: Engineering for Sustainable Development (The University of Oxford) or download from iTunes.

The term "sustainable development" embodies an important ethical principle which includes the concept of responsibility to present and future generations. This has significance not just for the practice of engineering but for the role of the individual engineer. This talk explored, using specific cases, how sustainable development affects the way in which the technical skills of the engineer should be deployed.
